WhatsApp has introduced a feature that allows users to operate two distinct accounts on a single Android smartphone. This new feature has been eagerly anticipated by users worldwide. Initially available to beta testers, the feature is now being gradually rolled out to the stable channel.
The introduction of this feature eliminates the need for users to maintain two smartphones or resort to app cloning features to manage separate WhatsApp accounts. It provides a convenient solution for those who wish to keep their personal and work accounts on the same device.
To set up a second WhatsApp account, users must have an additional phone number and SIM card. Alternatively, they can use a phone with multi-SIM or eSIM functionality.
Even if the second SIM card is housed in a different device, a second WhatsApp account can still be created as long as the user can receive the security code required for login.
Once these requirements are met, users can navigate to the WhatsApp settings, select the arrow next to their name, click on “Add account,” and follow the provided instructions. WhatsApp ensures that privacy and notification settings can be managed independently for both accounts.
However, it’s important to note that this multi-account feature is not yet available to all users. It is expected to reach everyone globally within a week or two. As soon as the feature becomes available in Pakistan, updates will be provided.
This development marks a significant step forward in enhancing user convenience and flexibility, allowing individuals to seamlessly manage their personal and professional communications from a single device.
