TikTok is adding a few features to make its comment section more interactive. Users can now send voice notes, photos and other interactive messages.
The most interesting feature is Voice Comments. Users can record the voice message by tapping the microphone icon in the comment box and can record a message of up to 60 seconds.
When a voice comment is posted, other users can hear their comments directly in the voice comments section. TikTok says that this feature will be rolled out worldwide in the next month and is currently available to people who are 18 years old or older.
TikTok is also rolling out photo comments. Users can now post up to 9 photos in a comment, instead of just one photo.
Futhermore, the option to share Live Photos in comments is also being provided. Live Photo is available worldwide, and the photo carousel will be available to users in the coming weeks.
The platform has also added creator polls to comments. Creators can create polls in the comments section of their videos, with up to 5 options available.
The creator can get live insights into the audience responses through the poll results. This feature will be rolled out worldwide.
This new update on TikTok brings a lot of changes to the comment section. Now, users can now add voice reactions, multiple photos, and polls to a video.
TikTok has also confirmed that uploaded audio must follow the platform’s Community Guidelines. Automated systems and speech-to-text will also be used for moderation.
These changes will be rolled out on different timelines for different features, so it’s possible that some users will see the new comment options first and others later.
