WhatsApp is rolling out a new set of features that are aimed at making group calls organized, engaging, and productive. The global release includes scheduling features, interactive elements such as emoji reactions and a hand raise option, and enhancing call links. These updates aim to improve their regular interaction and professional meetings by giving users more control over the group calls.
The scheduling feature will allow users to schedule group calls in advance. From the Calls tab, you can tap the (+) button, select Schedule Call, and choose a date, time, and participants. After creating a call link, you can share it with others.
There are scheduled calls in the Calls tab with complete details, including attendee lists, and can be added to personal calendars. WhatsApp also uses a reminder notification to participants so that no one is left behind before the call starts.

The hand raise feature on WhatsApp will help people who want to make group calls more interactive by giving them a chance to use their hands to request to talk. This feature is useful in larger meetings where it can be difficult to manage. Also, the new emoji reactions will provide users with an opportunity to reply quickly without breaking the flow of conversation and will make the group calls more vivid and expressive.

WhatsApp has enhanced its call links to improve participation tracking. Now, when one person clicks on a call button on a shared link, the one who created the link can receive a notification, so it is easier to trace who is in a call.
Despite the new features, WhatsApp confirms that the end-to-end encryption is not compromised, and all personal and business calls are secure.
