WhatsApp is testing a new voice messaging feature that allows members to leave a voice message after a missed call, making it easier to get in touch with contacts even if they are unavailable.
According to WABetaInfo, this feature was discovered in the new WhatsApp beta version 2.25.23.21 on Android. It is gradually being rolled out to beta testers through the Google Play Store.
The update adds to the missed call reminder feature, first appeared in the WhatsApp beta 2.25.22.5 build. Now, when a recipient fails to receive a WhatsApp call, the caller will get a new option to record a voice message, as an option, directly in the missed call chat bubble.

According to screenshots, user can just tap on the option and leave a quick audio note, making sure their message is delivered without waiting to reconnect later. This would be helpful in emergency.
Notably, the new feature remains seperate to the voice message feature already available on WhatsApp. Users will be able to continue to send regular voice notes as before but now have the miss call voice message option now which works simultaneously with missed call notifications, giving recipients both alerts in their chat.
Currently available to limited Android beta testers, the feature will first reach TestFlight on iOS and later wider roll out across platforms.
