Twitter has made an unexpected change by eliminating the need for users to check in before viewing tweets. Users can access Twitter links directly in their web browsers without creating or signing in to an account.

Twitter first established the login requirement as a temporary remedy to prevent data scraping, which was a degrading service for normal users. Elon Musk, the company’s CEO, previously stated that this solution was implemented to remedy the issue.
Twitter has made no public announcements about the current adjustment, nor have they revealed the precise procedures taken to fix collecting data issues.
The removal of the login requirement by Twitter coincides with the upcoming release of Meta’s new text-based service, Threads. Threads initially allowed users to browse messages on the web without logging in, however, the feature was later deleted. When Threads officially starts, it remains to be seen if it will take a similar strategy and allow people to see postings without creating an account.
Over the weekend, Elon Musk instituted read limitations on Twitter. Unverified users may now view up to 1,000 posts per day, while verified users can access up to 10,000 posts per day. According to a recent blog post by the firm, just a small fraction of users have been affected by these changes, and the impact on advertising has been minor.
