Sindh Observe Holiday for Schools and Colleges

The interim government of Sindh has declared a holiday for all educational institutions, including both private and public schools and colleges, on September 7th.

This decision was made by the Sindh Education Department’s steering committee and is intended to mark the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA).

Chehlum is a significant day that is observed 40 days after Ashura. It honors the sacrifices made by Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and his 72 companions during the Battle of Karbala in 61 AH.

The day is marked with mourning processions in various cities and towns across the country, as citizens pay their respects to the martyrs of Karbala.

This move by the Sindh government reflects the importance of these religious events in the cultural fabric of Pakistan, and the respect accorded to them by the authorities.

It also underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring that citizens can participate in these events without hindrance.
