Apple is expected to announce a redesigned version of Siri in the second half of February, according to a new report by Bloomberg.
The company plans to unveil the new assistant’s features; however, it is still unclear whether the unveiling will be held at a public event or in closed-media briefings. This will be the first time Apple shows Siri operating on Google’s Gemini technology after confirmation of the partnership last month.
The new Siri is expected to handle more complex tasks depending on personal data and on-screen information. These features were first shown by Apple at WWDC 2024 when Siri pulled details from apps such as Mail and Messages, but the update itself was postponed multiple times.
The upgrade will run on Apple’s Intelligence framework, with Google’s technology working in the background. The goal is to give Siri stronger cross-app awareness, an area where rivals like ChatGPT and Gemini have moved far ahead.
This will be available in iOS 26.4 in March or April. A more advanced chatbot-style Siri, capable of longer conversations, is planned for later this year with iOS 27.
The February announcement is seen as an important step for Apple, which has faced growing criticism over Siri’s limited progress compared to other AI assistants.
