Adobe has made three audio tools available to everyone in Firefly, allowing users to create music, voiceovers, and sound effects directly within the platform, rather than relying on separate tools for each.
The three tools, Generate Music, Generate Speech, and Generate Sound Effects, were previously available in limited or beta form, but as of this week they are fully available to all Firefly users. They now sit in the same workspace as Firefly’s existing image and video generation tools.
Generate Music runs on Adobe’s own Firefly Music model and creates original tracks that match the length and mood of the video. Adobe describes the resulting tracks as fully licensed and safe for commercial use.
Generate Speech converts a written script into a natural-sounding voiceover. Users get to choose between Adobe’s own Firefly speech model or ElevenLabs, with controls available for pitch, speed, and emotion. The tool reportedly supports over 20 languages, aimed at creators wanting to reach audiences beyond just English speakers.
Create Sound Effects, powered by Firefly Audio Model, builds custom sounds like footsteps, doors, or ambient noise using simple text prompts.
There’s also a “Voice to Sound Effects” option, where the creator’s own recorded voice can guide the timing and intensity of the sound produced.
Adobe cited a recent survey conducted with the Berklee College of Music that surveyed video creators, musicians, and marketers. The survey found that 80 percent of respondents post video content daily or multiple times a week, and every single respondent said they use music in their videos.
On the AI side in particular, 32.7 percent said they already use AI-generated music, while 43.2 percent cited legal and copyright risks as the biggest barrier to using music, with 38.9 percent citing licensing costs.
Adobe first rolled out these tools in 2025, with sound effects in July, followed by speech and music in October, and all three are currently in beta.
Along with the audio update, Adobe also launched a free version of its Firefly AI assistant with daily generations, and added Gemini Omni Flash to the list of AI models available within Firefly. Firefly already supports third-party models from companies including Google, ElevenLabs, Kling AI, Luma AI, OpenAI, and Runway.
