UAE Establishes New Gaming Authority, Enlists Industry Experts
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has recently announced the establishment of a new authority to regulate commercial gaming and a national lottery. The newly formed body General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) is set to develop rules and standards for the country’s burgeoning lottery and gaming sectors.
The GCGRA team comprises international experts who have a deep understanding of gaming regulations. Among them is Jim Murren, a veteran in the gaming industry, who will serve as the Chairman of the Board of Directors. Murren expressed his enthusiasm about having Kevin Mullally, another industry expert with over three decades of experience in global gaming regulations, join the team as CEO. Murren believes that Mullally’s vast experience will be instrumental in establishing the appropriate rules for the UAE’s gaming sector.
Mullally, on his part, expressed excitement about his new role and the opportunity to shape a solid regulatory foundation for the UAE’s gaming world, alongside his expert team.
The primary goal of the GCGRA is to create a gaming environment that is both safe and responsible. This involves ensuring that all participants adhere to strict rules and uphold the highest standards. In addition to this, the authority will handle licensing across the nation and explore smart ways in which commercial gaming can contribute positively to the economy.
This move by the UAE marks a significant step towards regulating and standardizing the gaming industry within the country, potentially paving the way for a more robust and secure gaming environment.
