If you have to lock someone’s Instagram notes so you don’t get overwhelmed and confused, you are not alone. But if they make you miss important updates or change your mind, you can easily unmute notes on an Instagram account. Hence, a detailed guide can help you get your notes back in order.
You can actually unmute someone’s Instagram Notes from either in-app settings or from someone’s Instagram Profile. However, since the Android and iOS apps of Instagram have nearly the same interface, we have chosen an Android phone to explain the steps for both methods.
How to Unmute Instagram Notes from Settings
Open the Instagram app on an Android or iOS device, and follow these steps:
- Go to the Instagram profile screen
- Click on the hamburger (☰) menu.
- Under the ‘what you see’ section, select settings and privacy.
- Then select Muted accounts.
- Here, you will find a list of all your muted Instagram accounts. Click on the Unmute button for accounts you want to unmute.
- That’s the source of the previous menu which will turn off the Mute notes toggle of this account so you can unmute it.
Then you don’t have to remember which Instagram (or Facebook, Twitter) usernames you know you muted Notes for since you will see that list here.
How to Unmute Instagram Notes from Someone’s Profile
Here’s how to unmute Instagram Notes from someone’s profile; just follow these steps:
- Go to someone’s Instagram profile.
- Click on the Following button.
- Allow tapping Mute and unchecking Notes toggle.
- You can also turn off the Notes on Posts and Reels toggle from here to unmute someone’s notes from other posts and reels.
Similarly, we can unmute someone’s Instagram Posts and Stories from here. However, when you mute a person on Instagram, they are not notified. That’s why you don’t have to worry about that.
