The ‘Repost’ button on TikTok is not new, and many users are still unsure of how to make all their posted reposts private from their followers.
TikTok’s repost feature has been around for a little while now. It’s a great way to interact with your favourite videos and content creators on the app.
It’s a quick and easy process to undo an accidental repost, but some TikTok users may not realise they can prevent anyone from seeing all the reposts they’ve ever shared. With this, you can still support the creators you want while keeping everything private.
How to hide reposts on TikTok
Right now, you cannot hide all your reposts from your followers. You can set your account to private and keep it private from people who don’t follow you. Here’s how to do that:
- Open the TikTok app.
- Go to your profile.
- Click on the three small horizontal lines.
- Tap Settings and Privacy and click on the Privacy option.
- Toggle to turn on the Private account option, making your TikTok private and invisible to non-followers.
- There’s just one way to hide your reposts: to make your TikTok private.
However, if you wish to hide TikTok reposts from one of your followers, your only course of action is to block them. This prevents them from messing with any of your content, your profile, or messaging you.
A lot of people have been pulling for this feature to come to TikTok, which would allow you to make any or all of the reposts you upload private. Unfortunately, by 2024, this option will no longer be available.
