Google’s Nano Banana Now Lets You Create Images on X

Google is expanding the reach of its powerful Nano Banana image generation model just weeks after its launch. The model is now available directly on X (formerly Twitter) and the Gemini app, making it easier to allow users to test AI-generated visuals.

Nano Banana’s official account on X confirmed that users can now create or edit images by simply tagging “@NanoBanana” in a post. It only requires typing a text prompt of how you want a new or existing image to look, and the model will generate the results immediately.

Alongside its X integration, Nano Banana has also been integrated with the Gemini app, where users can combine multiple photos, reimagine them in different styles, or add edits with a few button taps. As a responsible AI user, Google confirmed that all images generated in both platforms will have an invisible SynthID watermark.

Nano Banana is already making waves in the AI space. It has recently taken the LMArena image editing models leaderboard, with a very high 1,362 ELO points, far ahead of Flux.1 Kontext [max], which is ranked at 1,191 points.

With this broader rollout, Google is positioning Nano Banana as a serious competitor in the growing field of AI art tools. It remains to be seen whether it becomes the new platform of creators and professionals, but its launch on X and Gemini offers users a smooth interface for engaging in AI-powered image creation and editing directly in the platforms that they are already used to creating and sharing their content.
