Dr. Jamal Nasir, Minister for Primary and Secondary Healthcare and Population Welfare in Punjab, has announced that the government will provide free healthcare services to pregnant women visiting government hospitals. This initiative is aimed at ensuring comprehensive treatment and testing services for expectant mothers, without any financial burden.
The minister further stated that the option of Caesarean Section (C-Section) would be made available to those in need, completely free of charge. This step is taken to ensure that financial constraints do not hinder women from accessing this crucial procedure.
To facilitate the successful implementation of this initiative, Dr. Nasir has directed the medical superintendents of all district and tehsil headquarters hospitals in Punjab to make necessary preparations. These include ensuring the availability of skilled personnel, essential medicines, supplies, and functional equipment, while also maintaining high standards of cleanliness. The Primary and Secondary Healthcare Department has officially issued orders to all medical superintendents to ensure compliance with these directives.
In addition to these measures, the minister stressed the importance of treating all patients in government hospitals with kindness and respect. He acknowledged the dedication of the Punjab Chief Minister and his team in providing high-quality healthcare services to the public. Despite challenging time constraints, the minister emphasized their unwavering commitment to improving the healthcare system in Punjab.
This initiative marks a significant step towards enhancing the quality of maternal healthcare in Punjab, ensuring that every woman, regardless of her financial status, can access the necessary medical services during childbirth.
