How to Change or Update Personal Details on Emirates ID

Emirates ID is a card issued by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs, and Ports Security (ICP) in the United Arab Emirates. All nationals and residents of the UAE must apply for one and keep it on them at all times.

You may use the card to access government services and vote in Federal National Council elections. It also functions as a travel document for nationals traveling across Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations or passing through immigration at UAE airports using eGates and smart gates.

You may need to change the information on your Emirates ID at some point. The card contains both key and non-key information. Name, nationality, and date of birth are important pieces of information. Address and occupation are examples of non-critical information.

Any important information changes must be performed at an ICP branch, however non-key data updates can be performed via ICP’s e-service kiosks.
