Spotify is making it easier and social to share music. The streaming giant has launched a new update that allows Android users to share their favorite songs, playlists, and podcasts to WhatsApp Status, including visuals and instant previews.
This update, rolling out globally this week, is available to both Free and Premium Spotify users. It’s part of Spotify’s broader plan to integrate music with other popular social platforms, making music discovery a more interactive and connected experience.
Spotify’s New Sharing Feature
Android users can now share any track, playlist, album, podcast, or even audiobook directly in the Spotify app to their WhatsApp Status with this new feature.
When shared, the content appears as an attractive visual card displaying the title, cover art, and an “Open on Spotify” button. The button will enable friends to open the song in Spotify or listen to a short audio preview in WhatsApp without taking any additional action.
This new integration replaces the traditional method of sharing links via the copy-and-paste method. Instead of posting plain URLs or screenshots, Spotify users can now share what they are listening to in a dynamic, visually rich experience that fits naturally into WhatsApp’s familiar 24-hour story interface.
It is easy to share music, podcasts, or playlists on Spotify on WhatsApp. Follow these quick steps:
- Open the Spotify app on your Android device.
- Choose the song, playlist, or podcast you want to share.
- Tap the Share option.
- Select WhatsApp from the list of sharing platforms.
- It will be visible in your WhatsApp Status as a card with artwork, title, and an Open on Spotify link.
Your friends can then see your WhatsApp Status, tap the link to open Spotify, or enjoy a short preview on WhatsApp.
