KP Announces Multiple Holidays for Schools and Colleges

According to the provincial officials, educational institutions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) would stay closed till Saturday owing to continuous demonstrations.

The arrest of PTI Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan from the location of the Islamabad High Court ignited the demonstrations.

Rehmat Salam, KP Education Advisor, declared that due to “emergency conditions” in the nation, both commercial and public sector educational institutions will stay closed across the province till Saturday.

He also stated that exams conducted by the Education Board will be canceled.

The decision to close educational facilities was made in the interests of students’ safety and security, as officials considered that keeping them open in the current scenario would endanger their well-being.

The KP administration encouraged protesters to keep their demonstrations peaceful and not to harm public property.
