Some of the residents of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have found this new way of getting US visa appointments within a short time.
They are applying in the neighboring gulf countries instead of applying within the UAE where the waiting time ranges between 10-12 months or even more.
In terms of legal authorities, the application for a UAE visa is processed at the affiliation of the US Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the US Consulate General in Dubai.
However, due to the high number of applications, the clients end up experiencing long intervals between the time they apply and the time an interview is arranged.
How UAE Resident Got US Visa in Just 7 Days
To avoid such a situation, some of the UAE residents are now seeking other nearby Gulf countries for example Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, or Bahrain.
They have their own US Embassy offices; therefore, the periods for visa interviews are comparatively shorter.
Applicants residing in UAE can get a US visa in Oman in only one week, unlike the time-consuming process in UAE.
Shamsheed CV who works as a senior consultant for outbound travel at Wisefox Tourism revealed that from the time USCIS moved to July 2025, it would take ages to get appointed for the US visa.
“Our theory is people go to any other GCC countries to apply to get a visa faster: currently, in Oman, the wait time is 3 months, 2-3 weeks in Bahrain, and in Saudi Arabia similarly around the same time is taken and if they clear the interviews they get their passports back in 5 days and they can even fly back UAE. People go to neighboring countries to get US visas and to avoid the long waits.”
TP Sudheesh the general manager of Deira Travel and Tourist Agency was quick to note that appointments are available in other GCC countries.
He said, “Getting a job in the US embassy or consulate in GCC countries may take time maybe easier. Currently, many people who want to visit the US and need a visa and within a very short time shall get it are opting for this method as they will avoid the long queues.
The US Embassy in Abu Dhabi, specifically in the Consular Section in particular, demeans applicants to be present at least 15 minutes before the set appointment.
Any children below the age of 14 are not required to attend the visa interviews unless they are told to do so by their parents or guardians.
