Biometric authentication of bank accounts in Pakistan for international transactions – The State Bank of Pakistan offers rules for Overseas Pakistanis seeking Biometric Verification for their bank accounts. There are two types of Pakistanis living abroad. One category includes non-residents, while the other category includes people who are living temporarily outside of Pakistan.

Non-resident Pakistanis (NRPs)

Non-resident Pakistanis (NRPs) are advised to send the following documents to their parent branch through email (registered with the bank) or courier as verification of NRP status.

• Copy of valid passport, visa, exit stamp, resident permit, etc.
• Copy of valid ID card (CNIC/ NICOP).
• Undertaking for Exemption of Biometric Verification of Account.

Guidelines for Resident Pakistanis temporarily Outside Pakistan

Customers who are temporarily outside Pakistan should provide the following documents to their parent branch through email (registered with the bank) or courier evidence/proof of their absence from the country:

• Copy of valid passport, visa, exit stamp, resident permit, etc.
• Copy of valid ID card (CNIC/ NICOP).
• Undertaking for Exemption of Biometric Verification of Account.
