Facebook allows users to publish and share status updates, images, and links. Some users take advantage of this popular feature by often updating their statuses with agonizing, up-to-the-minute information. This might block your news stream with stuff you’d prefer to avoid. Rather than removing such friends from your Facebook friends list, consider a warmer approach. Facebook allows you to hide all posts from select friends while still keeping these individuals on your friend list.
Stop Receiving Posts From Friends on Facebook
- Login to your Facebook account. Your home page displays, with your news feed shown.
- Scroll through your news feed to find a post from a friend you no longer want to see.
- Move your cursor over the post. To the right of the post, a downward-pointing arrow appears.
- To open the list of options, click the downward-pointing arrow.
- Select “Unsubscribe from…” from the menu. The post disappears, and a notification appears informing you that the friend’s postings will no longer display in your news feed.
