- Open Google Maps app on your device.
- Tap on You tab.
- Select Explore Timeline.
- Click Next on the shutdown prompt.
- Choose how many months of data to keep.
- Choose If you want to share data with Google.
- Tap Done to save your Timeline data.
When will Timeline shut down?
Google Maps Timeline will be shutting down on June 9, 2025. There’s plenty of time to save your data, but it’s a good idea to store your data now if you want to retain those dear locations.
