Recently released Grand Theft Auto 6 trailer has given fans their first look at the new game in over a decade. Set once again in the neon-drenched Vice City, the trailer highlights just how far graphics and technology have advanced since 2002’s GTA: Vice City.
A fan recently posted side-by-side comparisons of scenes from the GTA 6 trailer next to their counterparts from Vice City.
The differences are striking – while Vice City was groundbreaking at the time, the GTA 6 visuals are on a whole other level in terms of detail, lighting, textures, and more.
Popular locations like Vice Beach and the downtown area with glowing hotels make a return, rebuilt from the ground up to take advantage of new hardware.
The trailer also gave fans their first introduction to GTA 6’s protagonists – Lucia, the female half of a Bonnie and Clyde-type duo.
Trailer analysis has sparked discussion around hints of the new story, including Lucia’s ankle monitor bracelet potentially limiting her movements.
Fans also spotted a possible Lance Vance easter egg from Vice City.
While the trailer has fans excited, Rockstar has only confirmed next-gen PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S releases so far, with no mention of PC.
However, with the game not expected until 2025, platforms could still change. Until then, fans will continue scouring the reveal trailer for every last detail about GTA’s long-awaited next chapter.
