No, There is No Public Holiday on 25 May 2023

According to a local news source, the government of Pakistan has declared a public holiday on May 25. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has stated that there would be no vacation on May 25, refuting the local news channel’s allegation.

The day is known as ‘Pakistan Martyrs’ Honor Day.’ The 25th of May has been set aside to honor and remember the martyrs’ sacrifices for the nation.

It is an opportunity for the country to reflect on the selfless deeds of the courageous individuals who gave their life for the welfare and security of Pakistan.

Monuments honoring the martyrs of the military forces, police, and other law enforcement agencies will be decked with flower wreaths on this day. The primary celebration will take place at the General commands (GHQ), with supplementary activities taking place at the Pakistan Air Force and Pakistan Navy commands.

To honor their departed heroes, the police department has also scheduled events in Islamabad, the provincial capitals, and Azad Kashmir. These ceremonies serve as a somber reminder of the sacrifices made by our courageous men and women in uniform, as well as an homage to their steadfast devotion and ultimate sacrifice for the security and well-being of our nation.
