Telegram is a popular application that is used to communicate through a secure way, create a croup chats, voice and video calls, and share many medias. This is mostly because many people prefer Telegram over others for its privacy as well as its user friendly interface is available on iOS, Android and desktop.
How to Know if Someone is on Telegram
If you are trying to check whether someone is using Telegram or not, here are some ways to find out.
Send them a Message
The easy way to check is by sending a message:
- If the message is delivered to them, the person has installed Telegram.
- If your message remains not delivered, the person might have Telegram, or might have blocked you.
Search for their Username
There are many Telegram users who create unique usernames. To check:
- Open Telegram app.
- Enter their username or name on search bar.
- If they have a public profile, their account will appear on screen.
Ask them Directly
Sometimes the most basic method is the right one. All you need to do is to check if that person uses Telegram.
There are users who link their Telegram account to a platform like Instagram, Twitter or Facebook. Search by their username on their profiles and search for any link or mention of their username.
Private Accounts: Even if you do not manage to find someone, you might still see the person using Telegram with a private account or a different username.
Blocked Accounts: If your contact is blocked, they will be gone even if they are online on Telegram.
It’s difficult to know for sure if somebody is using Telegram without actually talking to them. Looking for usernames on social account can be a good deal when in doubt.
