Pakistan Post stopped Parcel Service to the US for one month

It has become difficult for e-commerce platforms to deliver parcels to the United States, as Pakistan Post stopped accepting parcel bookings without notice.

The disturbance resulted in a financial shock, especially to the business entities operating from Pakistan, as they suspended operations today, Monday. This translated to extremely huge losses, probably occasioned by the cancellation of parcel bookings.

In the said unfavorable environment, sudden suspensions resulting in cancellations of orders placed through e-commerce platforms put off the export of Pakistani goods to Washington, which had an equal impact on the national exchequer.

Pakistan Post Parcel Service to US

Pros connected suspension with failure to pay to US-based shipping companies, and issues concerning abusive packing of parcels also worsened things.

In focusing all activities on the revival of services, the officials of Pakistan Post pointed out several shortcomings that led to the suspension of parcel bookings to the States, such as missing EAD, wrong classification of Letter mail, and improper ITMATT messaging to Small-sized Registered letters for the States.

The booking staff incorrectly filled out some of the required fields, which eventually led to the USPS rejecting mail.

The halt also negatively impacted packaged products with the Pakistani mark in the US market. Online retailers are engaging government websites to seek a resolution to the situation, as Pakistan Post has not communicated a clear time frame for the resumption of deliveries to the US either.
