Punjab government announces Kisan Card registration process, provides Rs. 300 billion annual production loans to farmers
According to this scheme, each farmer can also apply separately per crop to get a loan of up to Rs 150,000 and the matter is under consideration. Farmers can purchase fertilizers, seeds, and other required agriculture inputs through Kisan Card.
Kisan Card Registration Process
To register for the Kisaan Card, the ID card number of the interested person has to be sent through SMS to 8070 with the message ‘PKC Space.
The Kisan Card program will benefit over 5,00,000 farmers. Contract farmers who have no more than 12 and a half acres of land are entitled to have a Kisan Card.
The land should be included in the land record center in the government records and the farmer’s mobile number should be attached to their ID card number to qualify for a Kisan Card.
The government performs checks of NADRA records against the ID card data submitted by the farmer Further, the farmer should not have any outstanding loan with any financial institution. The loan is to be repaid interest-free in easy installments over six months, and later, they can reapply for another loan for the next crop.
How to Apply for Kisan Card Online
- Create a mobile wallet/account.
- Purchase the Kisan Token Bundle.
- Fill out the application form at the Tehsil Office.
- Submit the necessary documents.
- Once notified, collect your Kisan Card from the Tehsil Office.
