NADRA Announces NICOP Fee Structure for November 2023 and Application Process

The National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA) has released the fee structure for the National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) for November 2023. The smart NICOP is designed to protect citizens’ identities and prevent identity theft.

The fee structure for the new smart NICOP, as well as for modifications, duplicates, and renewals, varies based on the service type. For normal service, the fee is $39, while for urgent service, it’s $57, and for executive service, it’s $75. Notably, the renewal fee remains constant at $39 across all service types.

How you can apply?

Applying for the NICOP can be done by visiting the nearest NADRA Registration Center (NRC). The process involves several steps, including receiving a token, having your photograph taken, providing fingerprints and signatures, and completing the required data entry. After reviewing the printed form, applicants receive a printed version of their application form.

For those born abroad, especially newborn babies, a passport number is a mandatory prerequisite when applying for NICOP. This registration document allows eligible Pakistani citizens living or having a reference abroad to travel to Pakistan without requiring a visa, making it particularly useful for those with dual nationality.

In addition to in-person applications at the NRC, NICOP applications can also be submitted through the Pak-Identity website. This move towards digitalization aims to make the application process more accessible and efficient for overseas Pakistanis.

The introduction of the smart NICOP is part of NADRA’s ongoing efforts to enhance the security and integrity of identity documents. With its state-of-the-art security features, the smart NICOP represents a significant upgrade from standard cards, offering greater protection against identity theft and fraud.
