Is China to build an airport in Pakistan?

Mufti Asad Mahmood, Federal Minister of Communications, has stated that China will develop an airport in Dera Ismail Khan, a city in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, as part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Speaking to the media in his hometown of Abdulkhel, he said the current coalition was working hard to restore the world community’s faith in Pakistan after the previous PTI administration damaged relationship with other countries.

He commended the ruling coalition’s recent loan arrangement with the IMF, saying the global lender made the agreement owing to the government’s sensible measures.

He said that the previous PTI management changed the original design of the CPEC project to reduce costs and that development on the Abdulkhel grid station stopped during Imran Khan’s tenure.
