How to request exemption from Emirates ID fines UAE

The Emirates ID is considered the only identification document that we the UAE residents must hold as citizens or expatriates. Again, the validity of the ID depends on the kind of residence visa that has been given and it may span up to one, two, five or 10 years.

While probably not as critical as in other parts of the world, it is necessary for nearly all important services in UAE including getting a new account with a bank, taking a house on rent, or getting a telephone connection.

Also, for travelling, it is necessary to choose only those countries that provide visas on arrival to Emirates ID holders. Hence, it is important to make sure that they have valid Emirates IDs.

An expired Emirates ID can cause a problem with services such as bank accounts and phone numbers and could lead to penalties upon the expiration of the grace period.
