If you have been searching for anyone on TikTok and haven’t received any results, that is likely a clue that they consider you blocked from the app.
TikTok has seen an influx of new users daily if only to view and interact with videos on its For You Page or create content themselves.
This is exactly the same as though it were any other social media app, and in time, you will also be reminded when you just want to block another account, no matter what it’s about.
Sometimes you might wonder if someone who’s blocked you on TikTok has blocked you back. Here’s how you will know if another account has blocked you.
How to know if someone blocked you on TikTok
There are a few things you may do on TikTok to see if someone has blocked you:
Follow the person you suspect of blocking you, and if it does not work, check your ‘Following’ list on the profile page. You will find that user’s account. Unlike unfollowing, the account will disappear if you haven’t unfollowed them intentionally. However, the account will no longer appear, which could mean they have blocked you. Users do get the chance to simply ‘Remove this follower’ from their account.
When you’re blocked by someone on TikTok, you’ll never be able to see their profile again. If you think you’ve been blocked, search their username on the app and see if you get the same notification you usually do when they send you something. You likely have been banned if you can’t find an account after trying with the proper username.
Tap on a comment or mention left on from another person’s video in the notifications screen. And if you can’t see the video, that might mean you’ve been blocked.
Go to the user’s profile page whose account you want to follow. If the bio and the videos are hidden, this actually means that you were most likely banned. If you get a Google Chrome message that reads, ‘You can’t follow this account,’ that’s another sign.
If you have been blocked, it’s up to the user to decide if they want to unblock you, but hopefully doing these steps will make it easier to establish if you have actually been blocked.
