I was recently on Pinterest and saw a lot of annoying ads, especially ads generated by AI. You are not alone. Many Pinterest users are upset that their feed is packed with paid posts, which bumps authentic pins down in the results. If you need to stop seeing ads on your Pinterest app, this document is made for you.
Pinterest does not have a feature to switch off ads, but a few clever solutions can help you see fewer. So, how do you attract prospects?
Method 1: Hide Ads Manually
Many people have found that this method works well for them. If you hide four or five ads in your feed, they will stop showing for a while.
- Open the Pinterest app.
- Go to the Home tab.
- Find an ad and tap the three dots below it.
- Tap Hide.
- Repeat this process for at least 4-5 ads.
Method 2: Adjust Privacy & Data Settings
You can minimize advertising that follows you online by changing your privacy and data settings.
- Open the Pinterest app.
- Tap your profile icon.
- Tap the three dots (⋯) in the top-right corner.
- Go to Settings > Privacy and data.
- Under Ads Personalization, turn off these toggles:
- Use info from sites you visit
- Use partner info
- Ads about Pinterest
- Activity for ad reporting
This means less of your data is used to show you ads on Pinterest.
Method 3: Block Third-Party Ad Partners
Stop third-party apps from using Pinterest activities to put ads in their ads.
- Open the Pinterest app.
- Tap on your profile.
- Go to the three-dot menu > Settings.
- Tap Privacy and data.
- Scroll down and turn off:
- Sharing info with partners
- Ads off Pinterest
No third-party advertisers are allowed to use your data from Pinterest.
Though blocking all ads on Pinterest is impossible, using these solutions will improve your feed. You can do things yourself to reduce the ads you see, like blocking them, altering ad preferences, and turning off third-party data sharing.
Thank you so much for this- I’m losing my mind over these things!
