FFDShow is an open-source codec package that allows various media apps to encode and decode video files in Microsoft Windows. Its major purpose is to enable Windows Media Player to play various MPEG4-based video material, but most of that capability is already present in the most recent version of Windows Media Player on Windows 7. If FFDShow is no longer required, you can uninstall it by removing it from the Control Panel.
How to Get Rid of FFDShow
- In the lower-left corner of the screen, press the “Start” button.
- Choose “Control Panel.”
- Click either “Uninstall a program” or “Programs and Features.”
- Click “FFDshow,” then click on “Uninstall.”
- Click “Yes,” then “OK” to uninstall the program.
