The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Islamabad has announced a significant change in the examination pattern for the 9th and 11th classes.
The existing pattern of practical exams for matric and intermediate classes will be replaced with a practical-based assessment (PBA) in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Mathematics. This change will be implemented in the academic year 2024.

The new model of assessment will be applied to the annual exams of the 9th and 11th classes in 2024. Furthermore, the board plans to extend this assessment model to the 10th and 12th classes’ annual exams in 2025.
The Federal Board has assured that the model question papers for the practical-based assessment will be uploaded on the official website of the federal board. This move is expected to help students understand the new pattern and prepare accordingly.
