Eid ul Fitr 2023 Date in Pakistan: Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar
The expected date of Eid-ul-Fitr 2023 was announced today in various cities in Pakistan like Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, and Peshawar.
According to the Rawit Hilal Research Council (RHRC), Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated across the country on Saturday, April 22, 2023.
Secretary General of the Council, Khalid Ijaz Mufti, has said that the meeting of the committee to see the moon of Shawwal is to be held on Thursday, April 20, 2023.

If the moon is visible on Thursday evening, then Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Saturday, April 22, 2023.

He further informed that Eid is more likely to celebrated on 22 April after completing 30 fasts of Ramadan.
According to the council, the birth of the moon is expected on Thursday, April 20 at 9:13 am Pakistan time. However, the age of the moon should be more than 19 hours to be visible at sunset on the evening of 29 Ramadan, but it will be less than 10 hours in all areas of Pakistan.

The council added that the difference between sunset and moonset, which should be more than 40 minutes, is only 21 minutes in Peshawar, Gilgit, Muzaffarabad, Charsadda, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Quetta and Jiwani and 20 minutes in Lahore and Karachi. Even if the weather is clear across Pakistan, there is no possibility of seeing the moon even through binoculars on the evening of April 20.
Council Secretary General Mufti Azam said that 30th of Ramadan will be celebrated on 21st April and 1st Shawwal will be celebrated on 22nd April.
