Dubai Offers Free Careem Bike Rides for Everyone

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) of Dubai has partnered with Careem to provide free bicycle rides around the city. This project was launched in conjunction with World Environment Day on June 5th, to encourage healthy behaviors and the use of flexible transportation for leisure and exercise.

RTA and Careem have developed a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) to convert Dubai into a bicycle-friendly city by government requirements.

Customers will be able to enjoy free bicycle rides using the Careem app on Saturday, June 10th. Trips should not last more than 45 minutes, but limitless trips are permitted within this time limit.

Customers may pick the “One Day” pass and input the code “FREE” on the app for 24-hour bike use. They will be asked to provide their card information, but no fees will be charged.

Careem Bikes, which are available at 186 stations, have helped to reduce carbon emissions in Dubai. They have already saved over 2.5 tons of CO2 since its introduction in February 2020. This is comparable to the annual emissions of 713 automobiles.

Careem Bike also provides businesses with a sustainable way to reduce carbon footprints through bulk subscriptions for employees or consumers.
