Meta’s WhatsApp has announced that voice chat is now possible in group chats of every size, not just the huge ones. Whether managing a project or just settling in for a chat, you can now communicate instantly with everyone in the chat, and no call is required.
Initially, big groups could only use voice chat; now it can be used in groups containing up to 256 people. If you speak out loud and keep texting, it won’t be tough to keep up in complicated or quick-moving discussions.
How to Start a Voice Chat on WhatsApp
Starting a group voice chat is easy and does not make noise for everyone until someone thinks to check it.
- Open a group chat.
- Tap the voice chat icon in the top right corner.
- Select “Start Voice Chat.”
After you activate the banner, it will show who is connected at the bottom, so you can watch the chat without stopping.
Privacy and Controls
Any conversation in a voice chat is kept private since it’s encrypted from beginning to end, so WhatsApp doesn’t hear it either.
Here are the options users have to control the bot:
- Mute your mic.
- Leave the chat at any time.
- End the session manually.
- The voice chat ends if no one joins within 60 minutes or if all participants exit.
Users worldwide on both Android and iOS can now access the feature. To benefit from this feature, open the Google Play Store or Apple App Store and install the latest version of WhatsApp.
Now, group conversations are more accessible and don’t disturb people when they are updated in real time. In business matters and among friends, voice chats help increase group communication without losing WhatsApp’s main privacy feature.
