WhatsApp tests new broadcast trial credit feature for Business users

Summary
  • WhatsApp beta 2.25.20.7 introduces a trial credit system for business accounts.
  • Businesses get free monthly credits to send broadcast messages for 6 months.
  • No paid subscription is required during the trial.
  • Aimed to help businesses test broadcast tools before committing to a plan.

WhatsApp continues to add business-related features to the app, and the recently released Android beta v2.25.20.7 version adds something new and exciting to the app, a trial credit scheme for business account-specific broadcast messages.

The feature is still hidden and inactive for now, but WhatsApp has started to work on this update. According to insights from the beta, the company is developing a monthly credit-based system of free trials on broadcast messages to send broadcast messages without committing to a paid plan in advance.

The feature is already named as Trial and is officially under development. It would also allow some select businesses free monthly credits that they can use to send broadcast messages, usually a paid service under WhatsApp business plans.

The trial will consist of six months, and companies that will take part will receive a fixed number of credits every month. It is an opportunity without a risk because businesses can explore with WhatsApp broadcast messaging and test if they want to invest there in the long term and at what level.

When will it be available?

The broadcast credit system is not live yet. It was discovered in the WhatsApp beta version 2.25.20.7. While no confirmed release date for public rollout yet, it’s likely to appear in an upcoming WhatsApp Business update.
