The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has asked Muslim residents to look for the crescent on Thursday evening, which will mark the beginning of Eid Al-Fitr (1 Shawwal) in the nation.
The country’s moonsighting commission has issued directives requiring individuals who see the crescent to report it by contacting 026921166 so that they can testify in court and assist decide the date of Eid Al-Fitr.
Muslims in the UAE are looking forward to seeing the crescent moon, which will decide the date of Eid Al-Fitr. If the moon is seen on Thursday, April 20th, Eid will begin on Friday, April 21st.
If the moon is not visible, Eid will happen on Saturday, April 22. Depending on the day of the Moon sighting, UAE residents will get a four-day or five-day holiday.
If Eid arrives on a Friday, people will have a four-day holiday from Thursday to Sunday; if it occurs on a Saturday, the holiday will last five days, from Thursday to Monday.
Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia has urged its Muslim citizens to keep a lookout for the crescent moon on Thursday evening.
