How to recover Instagram Account without email, phone number, or username

Losing access to your Instagram account can be extremely frustrating. You may have forgotten your password, been hacked, changed your phone number, had your account disabled, or even deleted your account by accident.

Whatever the reason, being locked out means losing connection with your followers and access to all your photos and memories. Thankfully, in most cases, it is possible to recover your Instagram account through various methods.

How to Recover Your Instagram Account

Recover from Forgotten Password

If you simply forgot your Instagram password, tap “Get help logging in” or “Forgot password” on the login page to reset it.

You can use your connected Facebook account by tapping “Log in with Facebook” and entering your Facebook login info. This method works if your Instagram and Facebook accounts are linked.

Use Facebook to Recover Your Account

Even if you don’t remember your Instagram password, you may still be able to recover your account by logging in with Facebook if the accounts are connected.

From the Instagram login page, tap “Log in with Facebook.” You will be sent to Facebook’s login screen to enter your username and password. Tap “Continue as [Your Username]” to get back into your Instagram account.

This method only works if your Instagram and Facebook accounts are already connected and you still have access to your Facebook account.

Recover from Hacking Incidents

If your account was hacked, first secure any connected accounts, like your email or Facebook. Then submit an account recovery request through Instagram’s reporting tools.

Provide as much info as possible – like your full name, username, connected accounts, etc. Instagram’s support team will review your request and hopefully restore access to your account.

Recover without Email or Phone Number

Without Email

If you don’t have access to the email on your Instagram account, recover your account using your connected phone number. You will receive a code or link to reset your password.

Be sure to update the email on your profile to one you have access to, so you can recover your account more easily next time.

Without Phone Number

If you don’t have the phone number connected to your Instagram account, recover your account using your email address. Request a password reset link and access the email account.

If you can’t access that email account either, try resetting your email password first before attempting to recover your Instagram.

If You Don’t Remember the Email, Phone Number, and Username Used

If you don’t remember the username, email, or phone number associated with your Instagram account, go to the login page and tap “Get help logging in.” Enter whatever username you think may be connected to the account.

Instagram will send a password reset link to any accounts associated with that username to help you get back into your account.

Recover a Disabled Account

If your account was disabled by Instagram for violating community guidelines, submit an appeal through the Instagram app reporting tools.

Provide context around why you believe your account was disabled, explanations for any flagged content, and reasons why Instagram should restore your account access.

Recover a Deleted Account

If you accidentally deleted your own Instagram account, recovery options are limited. Immediately submit an account restoration request through Instagram’s reporting tools.

But there is no guarantee a deleted account can be restored. To avoid this issue in the future, do not connect third-party apps to your Instagram account.

Communicate with Followers during Recovery

Notify Followers on Other Social Media Platforms

Let your followers on other platforms, like Facebook, know that you are currently locked out of your Instagram account and are working to recover it.

Keeps your followers updated on why you are inactive on Instagram, reducing confusion or concern.

Use Link in Bio Pages for Communication During Recovery

Link in bio pages is useful for updating followers during an Instagram account recovery. Create a Taplink page and link it in your profile bios across platforms.

That way if anyone checks your Instagram profile, they will still get directed to a page you control, allowing you to provide updates on your recovery status.
