The schedule for Pakistan’s matches in the forthcoming ODI World Cup 2023 has been revised. The changes have resulted in the shifting of dates for four of Pakistan’s matches, while the venues remain unchanged. The teams that will now face Pakistan on different dates include Sri Lanka, India, New Zealand, and England.
The revisions were necessitated due to local festivals in India, where the World Cup is set to take place. The adjustments aim to ensure optimal security and smooth proceedings for all participating teams.
The match against the Netherlands remains scheduled for October 6th in Hyderabad. The game against Sri Lanka, initially slated for October 12th, has been moved up to October 10th. The much-anticipated clash with India, originally planned for October 15th in Ahmedabad, has been advanced by a day to October 14th.
Further changes have affected the matches against New Zealand and England. Both these games have been pushed back by a day, moving from November 5th to November 4th and from November 12th to November 11th, respectively.
However, the matches against Australia, Afghanistan, South Africa, and Bangladesh remain unaffected by these alterations. These changes only affect the dates of the matches, with the venues remaining consistent with the original schedule.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has invited cricket associations to discuss and resolve any issues related to domestic cricket. This move comes as part of the PCB’s ongoing efforts to improve the state of cricket in the country.
