The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) recently released a schedule for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The schedule includes the three cities that have been chosen to hold the prestigious event. The game will take place in February in Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi.
The highly anticipated eight-team event is set to take place over two weeks, though the exact dates have not yet been set. After an ICC delegation did a full inspection visit, the PCB decided on the final venues and schedule for the tournament.
Despite earlier rumors, the preliminary draft shows that India will be playing in the matches held by Pakistan. Following a thorough inspection visit by an ICC delegation, the PCB finalized the venues and the proposed timetable for the tournament.
The draft schedule usually goes through several changes within the ICC before it is officially approved. The revised version is then shared with broadcasters and other cricket boards for valuable feedback.
The upcoming ICC meeting is scheduled for July, during the organization’s annual conference. At a news conference held recently in Lahore, PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi confirmed that Pakistan had sent in their match schedule for the ICC Champions Trophy. He expressed contentment with the recent visit from the ICC security team and went over the plans for stadium upgrades, which are still ongoing with only minor delays.
Naqvi said that on May 7, the best stadium repair companies from around the world will be bidding on the project. These companies will play a vital role in designing the upgrades, which will then be finalized in collaboration with local consultants, to complete the renovations within four to five months.
Pakistan will host the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, which will be the first time the prestigious event has been held in eight years. Pakistan (host), India, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Afghanistan, England, and Bangladesh are the teams that have declared they will be there. The last event was in 2017, and Pakistan won after beating India in the final match.
