The Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) has announced an extension of its production shutdown due to an inventory shortage. The company issued a notification stating that its automobile plant would remain closed from November 6 to November 8, 2023.
This is not the first time the auto manufacturer has had to extend its shutdown. Previously, the plant was closed from October 30 to November 3. The motorcycle plant also experienced a similar shutdown from November 1 to November 3. However, Pak Suzuki has decided to resume production operations at its motorcycle plant.
Honda has also announced an extension in its plant shutdown. Production operations will remain suspended from November 1 to November 7, 2023.
Contrary to some reports, Pak Suzuki has not reduced the prices of its different models. The Head of Pak Suzuki’s Public Relations Department, Mr. Shafiq Ahmed Shaikh, refuted these rumors, stating, “The news with reference to the reduction of prices of Pak Suzuki vehicles is totally and completely wrong and fake. At present Pak Suzuki has NOT reduced the price of any vehicle.”
This extended shutdown comes as a blow to the auto industry, which is already grappling with supply chain disruptions and inventory shortages. The impact of these shutdowns on the overall market and consumers remains to be seen.
