ISLAMABAD – The Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2023, which was initially scheduled for September 10, has been postponed once again, according to an announcement made by the caretaker Federal Health Minister on Friday, September 8, 2023.
The decision to delay the test was taken in response to concerns raised by aspiring medical students. The minister stated that the postponement would provide these students with additional time to prepare for the examination. The health ministry expressed its commitment to go the extra mile to ensure the welfare of all Pakistanis, including the students.
The minister shared this development through his official social media handle, stating, “In the best interests of aspirant medics, we would delay the MDCT exams for a reasonable time so they get more prepared. We care for you and wish for a reciprocation from all students. The health ministry will go the extra mile for the relief of all Pakistanis.”
The delay comes after the minister took notice of the concerns of MDCAT students and asked the relevant authority to look into it with due sympathy towards the students. Meanwhile, a social media user shared an alert by the PMDC for the aspirants, stating that the MDCAT exam for students of flood-affected areas has been delayed. The test will be convened for the students of these areas separately. The PMDC is yet to make an official announcement in this regard.
This is not the first time the MDCAT test has been delayed, causing anxiety among the students who are eager to start their journey in the medical field. However, the health ministry assures that the decision was made with the students’ best interests in mind.
