Lost your Emirates ID in UAE? Here’s What you can do

Federal Authority of Identity and Citizenship (ICA) issues the Emirates ID, an identification card. If you’re based out of the United Arab Emirates, you have to know about this card. All UAE nationals and residents must have it with them at all times. Here’s what you should do if you have lost your Emirates ID in the UAE.

What can you do to lose your Emirates ID in UAE?

If your Emirates ID gets stolen, lost, or damaged, here’s what you must do.

Report to Relevant Authority

After you lose your Emirates ID UAE, the first thing to do is report the incident to the nearest ICA Customer Happiness Centre.

See the simple and easy way to report a lost Emirates ID if you ask yourself how to do so. You just need to have a valid document with which you can be identified, and then the center swoops in to deactivate the card instantly.

You can also get a copy of your lost Emirates ID card. If you’re reporting a damaged card, you must bring it.

Here is what documents you need to bring to report the Emirates ID lost:

  • UAE nationals: Your valid original passport and a family book
  • GCC nationals: Employment certificate card, school registration card, valid marriage contract, commercial license, ownership contract, real estate lease, or certificate of dependency.
  • Expatriates: Valid residency permit with a valid passport
  • Child (under 15): Parents need the original birth certificate and a colored passport-size photo (white background).

To report or request an Emirates ID, the UAEICP official app is available on the App Store and Play Store so that you can complete the process.

Apply for Emirates ID Replacement

After you have reported the incident, get the Emirates ID replaced immediately. To replace the card, you must fill out a form.

Replacement ID card application forms are available at any ICA Customer Happiness Centres. To complete online forms, you can visit the official ICA website. Similarly, the ICA UAE app permits you to put the application shape on and initiate the solicitation.

Pay ID Replacement Charges

  • Replacement fee: AED 300
  • Application fee
    • Via typing centre: AED 70
    • Via eForm: AED 40

For an application to replace the lost Emirates ID application, you must submit attachments like the fees with the application form. These charges apply to all UAE nationals, GCC nationalities, and expatriate residents.

Collect Your New Emirate ID Card

Once you request a replacement Emirates ID card, the ICA will inform you via SMS that your application has been submitted and when you can expect delivery.

The new Emirates ID takes two working days to be issued. If you are given an SMS from the ICA regarding the Emirates ID card, you can contact the courier service there. The customer centre number of their is 6005-30003.
