The Ras Al Khaimah Transport Authority (RAKTA) has launched an exciting new bus service that allows you to travel from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Musandam, Oman. This service offers a remarkable journey at an affordable price of just Dh50.

Booking Your Tickets

To book your tickets, visit the RAKBus website and enter your trip details. Select ‘Al Hamra Bus Station’ as your departure point and ‘Musandam’ as your destination. Input the dates for your outbound and return trips and indicate the number of passengers. After clicking on the ‘Find my Journey’ button, select your preferred departure and return times.

Bus Stops and Timings

The bus service operates only on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The bus departs from Ras Al Khaimah to Musandam at 8 am and 6 pm, and vice versa. The journey takes approximately two and a half to three hours.

From Ras Al Khaimah to Musandam:

  • 8am
  • 6pm

From Musandam to Ras Al Khaimah:

  • 8am
  • 6pm

The bus route includes several stops within Ras Al Khaimah, such as the Ras Al Khaimah Bus Station (Al Dhait South), Al Rams Area, and Sha’am Area. In Musandam, the bus stops include Tibaat Area, Wilayat of Bukha, Harf Area, Qada Area, and Wilayat of Khasab.

Ticket Prices and Booking Options

A one-way trip costs Dh50, while a round trip is priced at Dh100. Children under the age of three can travel for free. You can book your tickets through the RAKBus app, available for both Apple and Android devices, or directly on the bus. Alternatively, you can purchase tickets at the Ras Al Khaimah bus station.

Online Payment and Ticket Confirmation

If you choose to pay online, a digital ticket will be sent to your registered email address. This ticket serves as proof of your purchase. If you prefer to pay at the counter, you will receive a unique reference number that must be presented at the ticket counters located in Ras Al Khaimah’s Al Hamra Bus Station.

Additional Services and Amenities

The RAKTA bus service offers free seat selection, with designated seats for seniors, women, and People of Determination. Seats with extra legroom are also available. Additionally, passengers can enjoy complimentary WiFi service for one hour during their journey.

Traveling from Other Emirates

If you live in a different emirate but wish to travel to Oman on the RAKTA bus, you can board an RAKTA intercity bus by booking a ticket through the official website or the RAKBus app. RAKTA offers intercity bus routes that connect various locations such as Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Ajman, and Al Ain to Ras Al Khaimah.
