The Lahore City Traffic Police (CTP) will from now on levy a Rs. 2,000 punishment for wrong-way parking and driving. According to a media source, the decision was made on the orders of Lahore CTO Mustansar Feroz during the meeting at Police Lines, Qila Gujar Singh.
All traffic circle officials, sector in-charge staff, and wardens were present at the meeting. The CTO stressed the importance of a zero-tolerance policy for encroachments, inappropriate parking, and illegal parking stands.
He proposed severe penalties for traffic offenses and ordered a crackdown on one-way streets, encroachment, and inappropriate parking. According to the CTO, a Rs. 2,000 punishment will effectively deter motorists from breaching the law and inconveniencing other drivers.
He directed that a case be launched for recurrent infractions and that divisional officials respect the rotation policy. Absence, impoliteness, and indifference toward tasks will not be accepted, according to the CTO.
