The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) of Islamabad has extended the interim bail of the Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), who is also a former prime minister, until July 19. This decision pertains to three separate cases that have been registered against him.
The charges, which are of a serious nature, were filed at the Khana and Bhara Kahu police stations under terrorism laws. The ATC judge, during the hearing, instructed the investigators to expedite and complete their probe into the case, emphasizing the need for a swift resolution.
A police official confirmed during the proceedings that the PTI Chairman had actively participated in the investigation related to the cases filed against him. It was revealed that he was accused of aiding and abetting the crime, although the specifics of the alleged crime were not disclosed.
The judge, showing his commitment to a fair trial, requested detailed information about the ongoing investigation against the former Prime Minister. He expressed his intolerance towards any delay in the case, asserting that justice must be served promptly, especially if the suspect is found to be innocent.
After considering all the arguments presented, the court decided to extend the PTI chairman’s interim bail till July 19. In a parallel development, the District and Sessions Court of Islamabad also extended the interim bail of the PTI chief in eight other cases until the same date.
This decision marks a significant moment in the ongoing legal proceedings involving the PTI chief, as it allows more time for the investigation to be completed and for justice to be served.
