Imran Khan has issued his first public message since his incarceration in Adiala Jail on August 5, 2023. The message was shared with the public via his social media accounts on October 12, 2023.
In his message, Khan appealed to the judiciary for justice and the immediate release of his party workers. He urged his followers not to lose hope, stating that their time of trial would end as “with every difficulty there is ease”.
He encouraged them to continue raising their voices against the unelected predatory group and their facilitators, demanding a fair and transparent election.
Khan expressed confidence that the people of Pakistan would vote in large numbers for his party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, regardless of the attempts by others to cheat the system. He declared that defeat was the only destiny for those who cheat.
The former Prime Minister also shared his experiences in jail, revealing that he had to sleep on the floor without a bed during the initial days of his imprisonment. Despite these hardships, he stated that he has adjusted well to the prison conditions and feels stronger and fitter than ever before, both spiritually and physically.
Khan also used this opportunity to study and research the Holy Quran and other books, which he says has strengthened his faith. He reiterated his commitment to the quest for Haqeeqi Azadi, the rule of law, and the Constitution of Pakistan, emphasizing the importance of free and fair elections.
He further stated that he would not leave Pakistan, declaring that he would live and die with his country. He criticized the cipher case against him as a bogus attempt to protect former Army Chief General Bajwa and Donald Lu, instead of investigating the foreign conspiracy in orchestrating a regime change.
Khan ended his message by expressing his concern for his workers who have been illegally imprisoned, especially the women workers who have been in captivity for months. He called this an abuse of power by a few individuals to satisfy their egos.
