How to Fix Couldn’t Refresh Feed on Instagram

1. Check your internet connection

Check the speed of your mobile network or Wi-Fi. Try loading a website in your browser and running a speed test to see how fast your internet is. A signal bar should be seen on your network signal bar in the upper-right corner of the screen.

Turn on the flight mode and then turn it off if you don’t have a mobile network. As a result, your network signals will be refreshed.

Next, select your SIM card from Settings ( Go to Connections >> Mobile Network >> Mobile Network). You can update your mobile network manually or automatically.

3. Check the date and time of your phone

On Android, open the Settings app and navigate to General Management >> Date and Time. Click on the button to enable the Automatic Date and Time option. iPhone users could toggle Set Automatically by going to Settings >> General & Time.

4. Update the Instagram app to the latest version

Instagram’s app is often updated to fix bugs and other issues. If your smartphone’s Instagram app is outdated, update it immediately. This can also fix the notification “Couldn’t refresh feed on Instagram.” You can update Instagram through the Google Play Store and App Store if you have an Android or iPhone.

5. Clear cached data of the Instagram app

It may be a problem with the Instagram app. To fix this, you can clear your Instagram cached data.

You must re-login to Instagram after clearing cached data. You can also force Instagram to stop. Clicking the Force Stop button on the app information page will do this.

6. Restart your phone

If you are still having an issue, restart your phone while loading your Instagram news feed, and you should be good to go. Press and hold the power off button until you see the power off button for some seconds; this will be using the power off or restart button. First, you must turn off your iPhone, and then you have to restart it yourself.  

7. Use the Instagram website

Instagram provides a web version for both desktop and mobile devices. Use this web version to access your Instagram account. But, if your Instagram app is not refreshing your news feed, profile, or even the notification of direct messages, open Google Chrome or Safari on your iPhone or Android device and visit the Instagram website.

You need to enter your username and password. The nice part is that when you log into Instagram, you can easily refresh your news feed to see new posts, stories, and messages.
