HEC Announces Schedule for Law GAT

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has begun the registration process for the Law Graduate Assessment Test (Law-GAT), which is required for admission to a Bar Council.

The Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) reinstated Law-GAT in March 2018, with the goal of ensuring sufficient examination and evaluation of a law graduate wanting to enter the legal profession.

Here’s all you need to know about HEC’s Law-GAT.

Eligibility Criteria

Individuals with a Bachelor of Laws degree or equivalent from a university recognized by the HEC/Pakistan Bar Council (PBC) are eligible to apply.

Test Type

The exam will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs).

A minimum of 50% is required to pass the exam.

How to Apply?

Candidates who meet the eligibility requirements can apply through the HEC’s Education Testing Council (ETC) site.

They must pay an Rs. 3,000 exam fee to Account No. 01127900567403, Account Title: Higher Education Commission, Bank: Habib Bank Limited, Branch Code: 0112.

When completing the application form on the ETC portal, they must provide a scanned copy of the paid fee challan.

Deadline

The deadline for applications is June 12, 2023 (4 PM PST).

Test Date

The test is scheduled for June 25, 2023.

On the day of the exam, candidates must present the original fee challan as well as the original CNIC/original passport. They will not be permitted to access the exam halls otherwise.
