After facing criticism for declaring a short break for Eid celebrations, the federal government has decided to extend the Eid-ul-Adha vacations.
The government has allowed an additional day off on Wednesday, June 28th, making it a five-day holiday, including the weekend, for Eid-ul-Adha.
The government had previously announced a two-day holiday for individuals working five days a week on June 29 and 30 (Thursday and Friday). Meanwhile, individuals who work six days a week were awarded a three-day weekend from June 29 to July 1 (Thursday, Friday, and Saturday).
However, according to a new notification, the holidays will now begin on June 28 and end on July 2, including the weekend. Here is the official announcement:

Earlier, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, the moonsighting authority, certified the sighting of the moon for the Islamic month of Zil Hajj on Monday. On Thursday, June 29, Pakistan will observe Eid-ul-Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice.
The Committee, led by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, met in Karachi after sunset to observe the crescent moon of Zil Hajj.
